How Mimi Akombu Post Shared By Amanda Chisom Helped In Changing The Life Of A Cripple Cobbler, There is dignity in labour no matter how hard you felt it might be. Sincerely, if there is one decent thing you should do, it is to be engaged in what will not soil your name no matter how hard you felt the situation might be. There is no hurry in life and if people are pushing you to do things the wrong way; learn from those with disadvantage background who walked their way to the top through dignity of labour. If you have every part of your body complete and still you want things to come your way through an easy lane, then you better have a rethink. Life is not a bed of rose. It takes determination to succeed and not through the act of laziness. Though Mimi Akombu’s name might not ring a bell to the general public, but within that name is a heart of kindness which we should emulate in our little ways. This heart of kindness all began with a picture and a simple post shared by this amiable CEO of Mims Clothier on her Facebook timeline about a cripple cobbler.

There is
dignity in labour no matter how hard you felt it might be. Sincerely, if there
is one decent thing you should do, it is to be engaged in what will not soil
your name no matter how hard you felt the situation might be.
There is no
hurry in life and if people are pushing you to do things the wrong way; learn
from those with disadvantage background who walked their way to the top through
dignity of labour. If you have every part of your body complete and still you
want things to come your way through an easy lane, then you better have a
rethink. Life is not a bed of rose. It takes determination to succeed and not
through the act of laziness.
Though Mimi
Akombu’s name might not ring a bell to the general public, but within that name
is a heart of kindness which we should emulate in our little ways. This heart
of kindness all began with a picture and a simple post shared by this amiable
CEO of Mims Clothier on her Facebook timeline about a cripple cobbler.
Here is what
she shared:
I took a picture of this
guy while walking to
pick a taxi, thank God my
phone was handy. I
was fascinated when I saw
him. Its amazing
how some people have refused
to be limited
even by nature. Yes, he is
crippled but his mind
is not. He is a cobbler,
his kind are all over the
streets of Nigeria begging.
This guy has
refused to be limited by
his condition, He's got
no legs but at least he has
functional hands to
amend your shoes. Don't
allow any challenge,
fear, etc to stand by your
way this year. Go
and achieve Your dreams.
Happy New year!
God bless you all!
Immediately this post was offloaded online, it began to
draw lots of reaction from kind hearted individuals who read the post. And when
Amanda Chisom shared the post on her timeline with these inspirational words;
People like this are people
I love to help. It wont
even take anything to get
him a shade or find a
wheelchair. Mimi please if
you find him again
tell us let’s see what we
can do.

The buzzing reaction was just too much. Frank Abraham offers 30k for the cause. Odiaga Aimieraomoh said
please find him! Ofestyle Bosh seeks to know the location of this cobbler and said
this is around AYA in Asokoro, will check on him before the end of today. Okoye
Chimebuka Vitus wanted it to be made went the clobber is found. And Adebeshin
Olusegun added that He's always at AYA sitting opposite Mortgage Bank where the
tricycles are (Keke). God bless Nigeria.
Indeed God
bless Nigerian; a great nation with great people who cares inspite of that
which seems to surround her. It takes a heart of kindness to be of help to
others even when you actually need help yourself. Anytime you see others offering help, learn
to be a partaker of it. The joy you derived from helping others is not
quantified in any monetary value. The joy of it is what the heart can’t describe.
If you sincerely desired to be blessed, then learn to bless others in need.
When you bless others you wouldn’t be struggling to receive the blessing you
desire. It comes naturally and you can never be stranded if you are someone who
blesses others no matter how little it might be.
Still after
gathering the some buzz for the post with sincere responses that came with it.
See what Amanda Chisom the Chief Executive Officer at
Trailblazer Media Consults has this to say:
“I am super excited and
overwhelmed with
gratitude. Sometime in
January I saw a picture
by Mimi Akombo of a cobbler
who was
physically challenged but
not letting his
situation stop him.
I shared the picture and
five of my friends
joined me and made this
possible. I also want
to acknowledge the two
women who
immediately donated wheel
chairs for me but
unfortunately the wheel
chairs were not
suitable for him so I had
to purchase a brand
new customised wheel chair
for him.
I want to especially
appreciate Mimi Akombo
who has been handling this
for me with all Joy.
Love you babes, God bless
you mightily. To the
people who contributed and
made this
possible. I speak
prosperity into your lives. May
you never Lack in your life
time.
If you know anyone who
needs a wheelchair,
contact me”.
This is how
kindness should be shared. We should learn to be our brother’s keeper. And
shouldn’t look the other way round when we see a situation that needs help. If
you seek to be blessed, then be a blessing to others. To complete this heart of
kindness, the initiator of this, Mimi Akombu drop this words when she saw that this
was yielding a positive result.
I posted a picture of a
crippled cobbler last
Month and here is the
outcome. Sule now has
A wheel chair. No more
crawling about to do
his business. He was super
excited. Thanks to
my folks who went into the
streets with me to
look for him. A bigger
thanks to Amanda
Chisom who created the
platform to make this
Happen. And thanks to those
who shared and a
acknowledged my post. God
bless you all.
And like
Bitrus Adams said in reply to the post; God
will bless you my dear, this is the true region that Jesus Christ wants every
Christian to have in our heart to carter for the needs of the less privilege,
the orphans/widows etc. You have started the good work keep it up. Ismail
Muhammad Muye also thanked Mimi Akimbo and Amanda Chisom and said; may God continue to guide you two and bless
your ways.
What more can
I say than; may the good hand that blessed others be a blessing all the time.
