We are talking about never give up. And the account we have here is an account of Isaac, a child of promise, someone whose father received the promise directly. Abraham received the promise directly. It was not by third party. And Abraham gave birth to Isaac and severally God spoke to Abraham telling him this is what I will do for you. I have given unto you this land and even after that when Isaac was born, Abraham did not only tell Isaac, the Bible says, God also appeared to Isaac and told him, you are a child of promise. And gave unto him lists of the blessing with which He will bless him. And in this Chapter 26, the Bible said, there was farming in the land and Isaac decided to relocate but God said to him, He said no, stay in the same land, never give up on love quotes, never give up motivation, never give up quote, never give up motivation quotes, quotes about giving up on everything, give up quotes for him, never give up speech, giving up quotes about relationship
“For all the wells which his father’s servants had digged in the days of Abraham his father, the Philistines had stopped them, and filled them with earth. And Abimelech said unto Isaac, Go from us; for thou art much mightier than we. And Isaac departed thence, and pitched his tent in the valley of Gerar, and dwelt there. And Isaac digged again the wells of water, which they had digged in the days of Abraham his father; for the philistines had stopped them after the death of Abraham: and he called their names after the names by which his father had called them. And Isaac’s servants digged in the valley, and found there a well of springing water. And the herdmen of Gerar did strive with Isaac’s herdmen, saying, The water [is] ours: and he called the name of the well Esek; because they strove with him. And they digged another well, and strove for that also: and he called the name of it Sitnah.” Genesis [26:15-22]

He said, stay in the same land because this is where you will be blessed. And the Bible said; Isaac stayed there. And the story we have of him is that, he sowed in that land and he had a hundred fold. But more often than not, we also do not talk about the problems that Isaac had, we fail to talk about the resistance he faced in that same land. The same land where God said you are the owner I have given the land unto you. The Bible said at a point, they drove him out of the placed where he was staying. They drove him away and he left. He didn’t give up. The land and all the things the father had there, they filled the wells with sands. They said leave this place; you people are a problem to us in this place. And he moved from there, relocated to the next street. And by the time he got there, he decided to set-up camp again and he began to dig.
There allowed him to dig and until he reached water and they said, you have come here again. We said we don’t want you here, even this place is our water; is our land go away. The Bible says he didn’t mine, he moved to another place. And when he got there, they allowed him to dig again, after digging he met water and they came again. They said, you this man wouldn’t you hear what we are saying? Leave this place, this water is our water. He went to another place. You know the people also were tired. They said this man wouldn’t agree. Look at all the things we have been doing, he never gave up. And the Bible says at the final place, because he had weary his enemies, he had fought with them and he had won the battle. It says they refused to come again. They allowed him there. He said this is where the Lord had given us room. He said and we shall be fruitful in the land. And the Bible says at the particular point, the blessing was overwhelming there.
The point where he got to, the blessing was overwhelming there; meaning that even God knew where He was taking him to despite all the resistance he had. But one thing we must take note of is that he never gave up. I want you to tell yourself, I refused to give up.
There are so many challenges that come our way. And in fact you find out that if that is the way, if they don’t want me to continue, I will leave it for them. But this man refused to give up because he is a child of promise. He held on to the promise of God. I want to let you know, never give up your dream. Never give up your plan. Whatever your vision is for this year, hold on to it and don’t give up. Hold on to it and have faith in God and His word. You know Hebrew 11:1 that tells us “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen”. So if you want an evidence of things no seen, you cannot afford to give up. You might not have seen it, but believe that God has the ability to deliver on all His promises. And that is why you can’t afford to give up. Everyone that will have lasting success, always required has persistence and determination. You may have prayed, you may have fasted, it doesn’t mean things will come to you on a platter of gold. Even if you have prayed and fasted, this man was a child of promise regardless of that fact, they resisted him. Regardless of all resistance, as you don’t give up, the Lord will make a way for you.
What does it mean to give up? To give up means to surrender. To surrender to another what belongs to you. It means to abandon. To give up means to accept defeats. Seen this business is not working, let me continue with the other one. It means to resign to fate. You said whatever happened, let it happen, I have tried my best. It means to quit. To give up means to forfeit what belongs to you. To part with what belongs to you. To forsake the part that you believe should be the way to go. To handover what belongs to you. To cease to live. And that is why with all these definitions, you can’t afford to give up.
Every time you make up your mind to do something, to stand strong, to fulfill your dream, I want to let you know that challenges will come your way but that is life. Life is all about challenges. Business is all about challenges. Marriage is all about challenges. Every area of life is all about challenges. That is the way life is. When you fall today, you rise up and continue. Proverb [24:16], tells us; “For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again.”
Falling down in any area of life is not a sin but remaining on the floor is one of the greatest sins. You can fall down but reminding on the floor is a great sin. When you are confronted with any challenge, don’t ever say, I just cannot take it any longer. I just cannot take it anymore. Challenges are part of life, whether small or big, there are parts of life. The way we are, some people meet challenges very early in life. Some don’t meet challenges until later in life but challenges will come. So rather than give up, you must have that Spirit of a conqueror. To say that if God be for me, who can be against me, after all, Roman [8:28-30] says; “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to [his] purpose”. For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate [to be] conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.”
I want to announce to you that you are created for glory. The Lord will glorify you. I say you will bring glory to God. Verse 31 says, “What shall we then say to these things? If God [be] for us, who [can be] against us?” Brethren, there is no challenge that you cannot over. Philippians [4:13], says, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me”. So there is no reason while you should give up. Many a times you say I have prayed, Pastor I have if prayed, if there is prayer, I have prayed it. Seven days of prayer, I have prayed. I have read seven ways you can get breakthrough, I have done it. I have fasted, what else will I do? Don’t give up. As long as you don’t give up, your miracle will fall in your hand. Brethren, if you are falling, rise up and continue that is the way life is.
What are the things that make men to give up? Number One is failure. If you have failed before, let me tell you that failure is past. You have to bound back again. If you have failed before, that failure is already history. Rise up and bound back again. Let me tell you Satan hates process. He pushes people and puts pressure to give up. But his pressure on you will not let you give up. However, God on the other hand, wants the best for us. How else will He says in Jeremiah [29:11], “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end”. You will not miss your expectation.
Never allow failure to keep you on the ground. Failure does not break people, failure does not kill people. But it is our attitude to failure that destroys. And that is Satan’s trick. He will always bring the failure of yesterday. Isaiah [43:18], says, “Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old”. Failure of yesterday is a yesterday event, am bounding back again. And it says behold, I do a new thing. It doesn’t matter how you fail yesterday; today is a new day. And bible says, His mercies are new every day. God, doesn’t not give you the mercies of yesterday. His mercies are new every day. Even if you fail yesterday, God will make a way for you. You fail yesterday, doesn’t mean you will fail today.
Every failure you have had, see it as an opportunity. Look at it as an opportunity to start again. Every failure that had ever come your way; look at it as an opportunity to improve on how you did it before. Look at it as an opportunity for a valuable lesson. It is not shameful to fail; the only shameful thing is to be a failure. The fact that you fail, doesn’t mean that tomorrow you will never pass. Every man who is at the top, have fail one time or the other. You can’t continue to focus on failure but focus on the future. Philippians [3:13-14], Apostle Paul told us, “Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but [this] one thing [I do,] forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before. I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus”.
Whatever is gone is gone. If you fail in business, put it behind you. If you fail in school, put it behind you. If you fail in relationship, put it behind you. If it is family, put it behind you. Tomorrow is another day. There is nothing that has happened to you that is new. And there is nothing you don’t have strength to bear alone even if nobody comes because you have God.
