Farewell To You My Love
©Nsikak Andrew, 4th March, 2003

Like the tears that drop on a rainy day
I lifted up my eyes to behold a dark cloud
That covers the earth with thick darkness
Sorrow, sorrow and sorrow covers the earth
With no split of light to brighten the earth
Tune of sorrow engulfed the earth
As the cloud wept a farewell tune
To our perfect union cast from above.

I held back my eyes not to shed any tear
As I watched the reality of life
Unfolding within a twinkle of an eye
Before the dark cloud fills the earth
I feel our hymn of hope right from heaven
The angels hummed the tune
As the agreement came to a certainty
Two hearts were proclaimed as one
Flesh of my flesh, bone of my bone
We were meant to be one
As the Lord gives us the Grace
To go forth and shine together.

The earth could ascertain our bond
The children could hummed the praises
Of our bond made from above
We rejoiced for our union
Giving ourselves the love
That was a pride for others to emulate
I thought it will last forever
Building a perfect family that we will live to cherish
Yet on our way to the altar
To seal our bond written on marble
You broke-up
With no concrete reasons as a living prove
To alert the yet unborn generations
Of this thick dark cloud
That now seems to hum our farewell tune.

Farewell to you my dear
I harbour no grudge against you
I give you all that you could dream of
Sincere love, valuable time, unequal care,
Happy feeling and all that you ever needed
Yet all you pay me back are
Hurt, nightmares, pains and a broken heart
Our love you made
And still our love you destroyed
Now, where will the blame go?

Tiresome Necessity
©Nsikak Andrew, 19th April, 2007

A blonde flipped pass
Her hips swing under colour riots.
Beaten! The heart pumps
An increase desire to peruse.

Tiresome necessity
Clothed in silky chocolate skins
The poor mind is restless
With skimmer thoughts
Poisoned by the desire to feast
That forbidden fruit that had drown many.

How the corrugated mind thoughts
They could flipped with no string attached
How wrong could the mind deceived?
Like a tale in Hadley Chase’s – “The Fast Buck”
“He had regarded women as a tiresome necessity
Using them as a physical convenience
And promptly forgetting them as soon as
His infrequent desires were satisfied”.
How he beats his chest
And drank the red wine of victory.
But like a monkey forgetting
That the very terrain of trees
He thought he knew so well,
Could be the cause of his down fall.

Lost Thoughts
©Nsikak Andrew, 11th July, 2007

There’s a collection I read
And seems to see
Most of the traits in you.
I did love and sincerely wish
To discuss it with you.
Give me you valuable time
It would worth your time.
Let me know your convenience
And when to meet you.

I never give a second thought about you
But in recent time, I imagine
The little wonders I could do with your body.
Baby, you have the best body
I haven’t seen in a while
I desire to cares you up to down
Till you scream my name.

Each of your appearance embodies
A replica of the hidden treasure inside of you.
I adore your walking, your tendered face,
The stubborn way you carry yourself –
Never in a compromise to let go
Of your self-esteem.

I am overwhelmed by your charms
Though you’re a little bit stubborn,
It’s your style but yet in all,
You’re natural, loving
And surprisingly elegant
To be around with.

I admire your neat handwriting
Painted inside my little diary
It’s like getting Madonna to sign
An autograph for you.

Lost thoughts,
It is part of the secret I habour
All for one, love that never fake
I sure shall ever long to be yours.

Little Confession
©Nsikak Andrew, 11th July, 2007

And we sat side by side
While you were busy
Typing in Power-Point.
A poem titled
“To my Friends and
Cronies around the world”
I ask for your permission
To read through
Which you said I should.
As I read through
I ask, what is this call? –
Pointing to the object
In your hand.
It is a mouse you reply.
Doesn’t it bite? I ask.
Then you smile
And turn to see
Who was sitting close to you.
I asked again, what is this?
That you’re typing on called
The keyboard you did reply.
I did ask some little funny questions
Which you did answer
With so much radiant
And smile on your face.
I did told you I was coming
To make enquires for training
So as to be computer literate
Just like you.
I did say you will be my trainer
When I register.
You did agree
I did tell you my name
And walked away
Promising to see more of you.
I never came to be trained
I came to see you and
To have a word
With this pretty lady
That I have secretly admired.

My little confession is
I sincerely admire you
Every time I see you.
You have that distinct quality
That I can’t ignore
But my stress is I am so shy a guy
Even though I so much admire you,
I feel ashamed walking up to you
Safe my heart this pain,
Can we have a date?
Pretty woman who store my heart.

Baseless Stories
©Nsikak Andrew, 16th July, 2007

They sold the stories to dummies,
“…jungle inhabited by barbarians”
Africa virgin land of honour.

They sold the stories to dummies,
“…the best way to enslave a Blackman
Is to put anything in a book form”
Africa virgin home of the intellectuals.

They sold the stories to dummies,
“…repatriate their forefathers
To salve in our plantations”
Africa land whose ancestors were stolen.

They sold the stories to dummies,
“…colonize them in pains”
Africa virgin land of hope and strength.

They sold the stories to dummies,
“…a darky, gentlemen, is basically
As unteachable as a chicken…”
Africa virgin land of civilization.

They sold the stories to dummies,
“…wish there knew from the beginning…”
Our land they would have exchange
In gift of their disaster prompt regions.
Africa virgin home of the climates.

They sold the stories to dummies,
…but none that come wants to go back…”
For the land they despises
Are gold-mines that heap their save.

They sold the stories to dummies,
Baseless stories it is.

Word Words
©Nsikak Andrew, 16th August, 2007

Can your soul hear your words?
Words spoken from your heart
For it came like an angel
With no blaspheming clues to ponder.

I heard those words
And my heart gladden
I heard those words
And my heart opens…

Fragrances of those words
Mesmerized me like a love song
You made promises of cares
Vows that would rethink a soul.

I tripped, I trembled,
I freeze, I surrendered
Now I know
That words from the mouth
Aren’t like words from the heart.

Little Time
©Nsikak Andrew, 19th September, 2007

For a little time
You take it so personal
Maybe you were waiting
For the time boom to explode.

See what we have done
A little uncalled for
Destroying a good life
That had taken years to gather.

Tell me
Will giving up resolved our differences
It still marvels me
That life could turn this way.

If I was wrong
Which you thought I was
Will it makes you call me names?

Maybe your mind was made up
And the sight to flip-off
Was a motion in waiting
Now I see
How I understand.

Could We?
©Nsikak Andrew, 27th January, 2008 & 30th January, 2008

Though we might never be,
But in sincerity of purpose,
My heart flows like a river of joy
That never cease.

With smiles to my thoughts,
I looked into the sky and wondered,
If the day could ever be without sunshine
I looked again and smile in deep silent
As my heart began to flow in good tidings.

For a call to honour the clarion call,
In the land of the Omo Oduduwa I met her
A strong black maiden from the tribe of Queen Amina
She I would call a warrior daughter of Zion
For the value of virtuousness were clothed in her humility.

I longed to pour out my heart thoughts,
But my faith made me a pretender
For that which I saw, I ignored to speak
But in stroke silent my heart burns
A silent punishment I couldn’t run away from.

Years have gone by,
But the charm of her calm voice
Resonant on every breath of the air
Now, a thought of her,
Gladden my heart to be alive.

Who will bail my thoughts from this that I feel,
For her, my days thought are consumed in dilemma
Guessing and thinking in wait
Can we? Shall we? Would we? Could we ever be?
Puzzle only her heart could solve.

Tears Down The Aisle
©Nsikak Andrew, 21st February, 2015

Right from the day,
He popped the big question;
There I held my heart down in tears,
This tears that only the joy;
Of motherhood would understand.

Thinking back just as we walked,
In splendor steps down the aisle;
The moment that erased my shame,
And crowned in me the joy of living;
Right there, I felt this joy of a new glory.

This expression of my tears,
Meant so much, to my new found life;
It is for me an honour to be the Queen,
And I know same for him to be my King;
Where we have our Saviour to be our head.

Life was never this way that I imagined,
Those days of unyielding broken promises;
Spiced with a kind subtle sugarcoated tongue,
Days that the thought of my mind seems so real;
But disappointed in the glamour of dazzled hope.

I have sworn never to feel a touch after the last one,
When promises of love became a nightmare to bear;
Just before our moment of treasured glorious reign;
When soul set on fire for a perfect union of endless love,
Became a prey of shattered dream too hard to believe.

Time had passed, yet the thought still live a scar,
Scar too hard to eliminate within a short time;
Such that dethroned the power to ever love again,
But how you did it, is still a mystery that humbled me;
Thank God you came when it seems so impossible!

Now I am blessed to have a prince charming that cares,
One whose love had erased every of my unpleasant past;
Now I stand in honour of your love that gives me real joy,
Love so real that I can see the sparkle of a bright new sky;
As we walked down the aisle to begin an awesome new life.
